The good news is, staying active doesn’t have to be a chore. This blog post is here to show you how to sneak movement into your day in fun and easy ways. From secret squats to dance breaks, get ready to transform your routine and feel the amazing benefits of an active lifestyle!

Tips For Staying Active

1. Walk it out

Walk it out! Whether you’re strolling outdoors or getting your steps in around the house, walking is a super easy way to get your body moving. You might already track your steps with a fancy device, but that’s not the only way to know you’re moving enough.

Most healthy grown-ups walk between 4,000 and 18,000 steps a day. To hit a good goal, shoot for around 10,000 steps, which is roughly 5 miles. That might sound like a lot, but you can totally break it up throughout the day.

2. Get a dog

Thinking about getting a furry friend? Owning a dog can be a great way to boost your activity level. Puppies need exercise to stay happy and healthy, and that means you’ll be getting some exercise too.

Between walks, playtime in the yard, and even just dodging their bursts of energy, having a dog around can help you stay active and accountable for both of your well-being.

Scrubbing the bathtub or wrestling with the vacuum cleaner tones your arms, and even washing dishes or dusting keeps you up and on your feet. It’s like having a built-in exercise routine while you tidy up.

Turn your kitchen into a mini-workout zone while you cook. Don’t be afraid to flit around the room grabbing ingredients, reach up for those high shelves with a good stretch, or throw in some squats or stretches while you wait for the water to boil.

To make it even more fun, crank up the music and let the rhythm inspire your movements. Cooking can be a surprising way to get your body moving.
